Requirements are local
Discharge limits for laboratory effluent are set by national or local authorities and can differ between countries, cities and even sites. They usually cover microbiological parameters (such as E. coli and fecal coliforms), chemical parameters (such as COD, BOD, suspended solids, ammonia and metals) and pH.
What to check before installation
- Which authority sets the discharge limits for your site, and which standard applies
- Whether permission or registration is needed to discharge treated effluent to the sewer
- Where the approved drainage point is
- How and how often the treated effluent should be sampled
Testing
Testing treated effluent by an accredited laboratory shows whether it meets the applicable limits.
Independent verification
The TRESA series has undergone Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) under ISO 14034:2016, statement ICAP260006, providing independent verification of specified environmental performance claims.
