Treating wastewater from biochemistry and immunoassay analyzers

Clinical chemistry and immunoassay analyzers are among the largest producers of liquid waste in a laboratory. Three TRESA systems are designed for this effluent.

Typical volumes

In Maumee’s analyzer survey, high-throughput chemistry and integrated chemistry–immunoassay platforms typically produce from around 85 L to over 400 L of effluent over an 8-hour day, most of it non-concentrated. Actual volumes depend on workload, test menu and configuration.

TRESA CI: dilution + UV-C

TRESA CI is a compact, mobile unit for the concentrated effluent of biochemistry and immunoassay analyzers. Controlled dilution (1:2) and two 95 W UV-C lamps treat up to 60 L/h. It serves up to two analyzers and fits next to or behind them in space-limited laboratories.

TRESA CRD: chemical + bacteriological treatment for Roche biochemistry analyzers

TRESA CRD is a compact plug & run unit installed next to a single Roche Diagnostics biochemistry analyzer. Its chemical treatment combines active-carbon filtration and resin ion exchangers, eliminating copper, phenols and AOX; a 254 nm UV-C lamp then provides bacteriological treatment.

TRESA CIH: filtration + UV-C for several analyzers

TRESA CIH treats concentrated and non-concentrated effluent from up to three biochemistry, immunoassay or hematology analyzers, up to 120 L/h. Active-carbon filtration (10 µm) reduces chemical reagents and three 95 W UV-C lamps inactivate pathogens, under PLC control with a touch display.

Choosing between them

The choice depends on the analyzer models, the number of analyzers, effluent volume and local discharge requirements. Contact our team with your analyzer list and we will advise which configuration may suit your laboratory.
